ENEX Goes Far East
ShanghaiEye, part of the Shanghai Media Group (SMG) is joining ENEX in one of the most important expansions in recent years for the organisation. ENEX’s growth plan is now focusing on Asia with China the most significant strategic partner for ENEX in the region. Adrian Wells, Managing Director of ENEX, said “Securing a Chinese partner is a long-held ambition and we are delighted to have achieved it. SMG/ShanghaiEye is a hugely successful and influential media group and we hope to benefit from their insight and reporting of China as well as providing a great service to them.”
Song Jiongming, Senior Vice President of Shanghai Media Group, said, “It is our pleasure to cooperate with ENEX and we hope this sets up a new bridge between SMG/ShanghaiEye and the world.”
SMG operates 15 cable and satellite TV networks, 13 radio stations, 15 digital pay TV channels and 8 newspapers and magazines. ShanghaiEye is its international subsidiary. Its main television channel, Dragon TV, has a daily reach of more than 600 million viewers. Within its suite of channels are a 24-hour news channel, business channel and an English language offering.
The ENEX partnership now incorporates more than 75 different television channels among more than 50 members and countries.
